HR Generalist

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an Human Resources (HR) Generalist to support our growing team. To be successful in this role, you should have 3+ years of HR experience working in a fast-paced environment and/or startup.

This position will carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: on-boarding, recruiting, payroll administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, document management, and employment law compliance.

What you’ll do

Talent Management

  • Assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Prepares and maintains the employee handbook
  • Manages semi-monthly payroll administration for exempt and nonexempt personnel, including contractors and consultants
  • Assists in performance reviews, evaluation of reports, and promotions for each department
  • Collaborates with third-party vendors to perform benefits administration, including: claims resolution, change reporting, and communicating benefits to employees
  • Maintains company organization charts and the employee directory
  • Maintains human resource records and compiles reports from the database
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

Recruiting

  • Establishes recruiting requirements based on organization growth plans and objectives
  • Determines applicant requirements by studying job descriptions and job qualifications
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel including management of outreach efforts, job postings, and search firms
  • Conducts phone screens and interviews to qualify candidates
  • Sets up interview appointments between candidate and hiring manager

About you

  • 3-5 years professional HR related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent experience required
  • Strong technology capabilities, including expertise with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal know-how and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills and the ability to organize data
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Positive, professional attitude and presence
  • Responsible self-starter with excellent attention to detail
  • Reliable, courteous and flexible team player
